God Mammon and jeans are an unlikely Saturday morning troika, I had better explain.

♥ Favourite Shops//Formality

Formality is a small but very perfectly formed garden shop. Owned and run by Patrick and Karl it’s in Glasthule a South Dublin suburb. Karl is less often seen in the shop as he is Formality’s garden design guru and is frequently out and about on appointments.

♥ Meet my kettle!
Now I realize that buying a kettle isn’t exactly headline news, but as I have lived without one since June 2004 buying my new kettle last month was a bit of an event.

♥ Super shimmery
Walking down Dublin’s Wexford Street recently, I stopped to go into Djinn a jewellery shop. Dangerous. I know from experience that the only fail-safe way not to spend money in a shop is not to enter it in the first place.

♥ Fleur and Fleurie
When creativity, charm, and youthful enthusiasm converge it’s a beguiling mix: Fleur Reynolds is that cocktail Fleur makes pleasing, pretty, delicate jewellery from freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones and filled gold. She fizzes with energy as she talks about the pieces she designs and hand makes. Her label is appropriately called Fleurie (www.fleuriejewellery.com). The range includes necklaces and earrings with bracelets being added soon.

♥ Noteworthy
I have a bad stationery habit and I am particularly addicted to buying notebooks. When I see ones I like, I usually snaffle them up. In fairness, I use them, either scribbling or sketching (very badly) on the blank pages, or giving them away as gifts.

♥ Favourite shops//Agnès B
I cannot recall seeing an ad for Agnès B or an editorial features which used her clothes in any of the fashion glossies. I imagine these two things are not unrelated, as editorial coverage can depend on the amount a brand spends on advertising in a given magazine. Despite this Agnès B is hugely successful, with a loyal band followers, moi included.

♥ Hermès Coffee
I wager that even the fashion forward among you don’t know that Hermès do coffee. Well, er, they don’t actually produce coffee. They do however have a café in their bright airy new Parisian Left Bank shop, on the Rue de Sèvres.

RHA, Pop-Up Shop
To mark their 40th anniversary, The Crafts Council of Ireland have designated 2011 as the Year of Craft. The Royal Hibernian Academy have decided to celebrate this by opening the retail space at its city centre premises (15 Ely Place, Dublin 2) as a Pop-Up Shop, to showcase the best upcoming Irish craft workers and designers. Genius idea. The pop up shop is open from the 4th March to the 30th July this year. The ‘tenants’ will be changing over every so often. It is well worth popping in every couple of weeks to see what the different creatives have on offer. To check the full schedule and descriptions click here.

♥ Marni Marni on the wall…
…who has the best staff of all? You do at La Vallée Outlet Village.
I love brand Marni. However the hefty price tags mean I can only afford to buy, when the clothes are deeply discounted in the sales, or are available at a Marni outlet.
