It’s a funny old world in general and in particular it’s a funny old social media world. I doubt that on a macro level the full impact of social media in its multitudinous forms on our lives is anywhere near fully understood: on a micro level I don’t fully comprehend the impact of social media as I engage with it on my own life. Case in point: Dublin’s Pigeon House (not) and my *Instagram feed.

Social Media and The Pigeon House (not)
An Instagrammed January and a Blogging Break
January was a chilly month unless, of course, you live in the Southern Hemisphere. Chilly is relative but used as I am to Ireland’s temperate climate I felt the cold bite as temperatures dropped to zero or a little below. Brrr.

An Instagrammed October
October swished by very quickly like a speed skater slicing across the ice. I spend the first three weeks of the month anticipating my holiday in Italy and the last week of said month enjoying it.

An Instagrammed September
Yes, yes, I am a little late with this. I cannot use the excuse that September has one day fewer than most other months as today is the 3rd October so I am, er, actually, three days late. Playing with Photos
One of the things on my to-do list for 2012 is to learn how to use Photoshop, so to set the ball in motion I downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor from the Apple app store. The quick peek I took at it has left me wondering how I am going to master the myriad transformational possibilities it offers. When I was downloading Photoshop I also downloaded a couple of other much simpler photo apps. I am not for a nano second going to pretend I have any special photographic skills; I get by using my camera in a basic way. So this is neither a review nor a ‘how to’ post, merely a quick look at what the photographic and the tech challenged (that’s me) can do with a few apps.

Just in case you have an iPhone, just in case you are not one of the five million plus who have already downloaded it and just in case you have a few seconds, minutes or hours (take your pick) to spare or waste each day, I thought I would tell you about Instagram.
