♥ Favourite Shops//Formality

Formality is a small but very perfectly formed garden shop.  Owned and run by Patrick and Karl it’s in Glasthule a South Dublin suburb.  Karl is less often seen in the shop as he is Formality’s garden design guru and is frequently out and about on appointments.

Outside in the courtyard there is a tip-top choice of plants, pots and
garden furniture. Walk into the shop and you will immediately see that Patrick and Karl both have a ‘great eye’ as the shop is choc full of design led goodies.  Whenever I am in the vicinity, I am inextricably drawn to have a look at what’s new in Formality.  I am never disappointed there is always something to ooh and aah over.  I find it great source for gifts (for gardeners and non-gardeners).  At Christmas it’s a veritable treasure trove of stylish decorations.

At the moment as Easter fast approaches they have a charming selection of Easter decorations.  The display Easter trees in the shop are inspiringly bedecked.  The version I have channeled at home is most definitely not in the same league.

An interesting range that Formality carries is Side by Side, it’s a German collaboration of various workshops where production is by disabled workers.  The shopper pictured below is from that range.  The white handle at the bottom is for a small child to hold on to.

I think I am going to have to make another trip to Formality before Easter to see if I can move my Easter tree up a design notch.

UPDATE: For a while the retail space at Formality was used as a garden design studio but it’s now open again as a shop selling some gorgeous goodie.
