I returned from my recent trip to the Mayr and More Health Centre in Austria fired with enthusiasm for leading a healthier life. Not that my lifestyle pre my visit to Austria was insanely unhealthy but I felt there was room for improvement.

Procrastination and a Plan (Hopefully)
When I moved this summer from an apartment to a house I was actually moving to a smaller space: my house, you see, is Thumbelina-size and quite a bit smaller than the apartment I moved from.
Hello!
I am still alive, just in case anyone out there is wondering. I did mention a while ago that I might be blogging light for a while and so I have been and I will be blogging even lighter for the next six weeks or so and I am just popping in to say so.
I need some time and space which sounds dramatic but actually isn’t, I just cannot think of another way of putting it.
The blog isn’t coming to an end and I will post very occasionally between now and the end of October and in early November I will be back on regular basis. As I am a fully paid up member of the I used to be indecisive but now I cannot make up my mind tribe I dithered for an age about putting up this post, but in the end it felt like the right thing to do. I am enormously grateful to those who read Just Add Attitude and if even one reader was clicking on expecting to see something new and wondering about the lack of posts it seemed like a good enough reason to write this.
With many good wishes from
B at Just Add Attitude

Still a Blogger
I know it’s a while since my last blog post and that I have blogged less often in recent times but I am still very much a blogger and I will get back on track.

In which I reflect on my learning style
I have my best learning experiences ‘learning’ things I don’t actually need to know. In other words I seem to have an endless capacity to amass trivial and relatively unimportant pieces of information. These spin around my mind like a whirligig and are usually readily accessible, when needed. They seldom are. Random example: should anyone want to know what the relationship is between the editor of Italian Vogue and the owner of the Milanese gallery/shop 10 Corso Como I can readily supply the answer: they are sisters – Franca Sozzani (magazine editor) and Carla Sozzani (shop owner).

In which I am without a car for the weekend and learn some life lessons
I knew in the early days of last week that something wasn’t quite right with my car as the engine was no longer purring like a contended cat. As it didn’t sound too bad and as it was serviced recently and as no warning light was lit on the dashboard, I put the out of tune engine hum to the back of mind and drove on. However by Thursday evening the noise from the engine had morphed into a ominous rattle.

Looking Forward to 2013
It’s a week since the bells pealed to ring out the old year and in the new one; we are now a few paces over the border and in the foothills of 2013. And so we have started another annual three hundred and sixty-five day march up hill and down dale as we seesaw across the scattered peaks and troughs that will surely litter the landscape of our lives this coming year.

An Instagrammed October

October swished by very quickly like a speed skater slicing across the ice. I spend the first three weeks of the month anticipating my holiday in Italy and the last week of said month enjoying it.

Eeek!

Eeek, it’s been a week, a whole week, since I last posted on Just Add attitude; this, I am sure, is the longest gap between posts since I started blogging back in March 2011. No, I have not been contemplating leaving the blogosphere; I have just been preoccupied with other things this week which meant I neglected the blog. So, if you clicked on expecting to read my words of wisdom narcissistic ramblings only to find nothing new I apologise for going AWOL.
I may not have blogged but I did do an occassional trawl of the internet, where I happened upon this wonderful piece of advice on household management which I thought you might like. “The best way to get rid of kitchen odour: eat out”. So that dear readers is exactly what I did today, munching my way through a traditional Sunday lunch of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. I am not sure if Mrs Beeton would approve but in my book it’s advice of the best kind.
I will be back with a proper post in the next few days. I hope you had a good weekend.

Serenity
That preternaturally erudite philosopher, Winne the Pooh, who had such a sound understating of which exactly are the truly important decisions one has to make in life (example ‘What’s for breakfast?’) once said ‘Sometimes I sits and thinks and sometimes I just sits’. So he may also have had a solid grasp of the different mental states at play between totally serenity i.e ‘just sitting’ and sitting and thinking where the brain can become so overloaded that it seems like a bonkers pinball machine as each new thought ratchets around tearing the mind in yet another and often diametrically opposed direction.
