When I was setting up the Just Add Attitude I added an About page (that’s the page that tells you a little about the person writing the blog). However I was so totally thrilled that I had managed to grasp the technical necessities to get the blog up and running in the first instance, and in my haste to start scribbling away and posting posts I just added one very uninformative sentence to my About page. I have thought, many times, about updating the page but never actually got around to it – until today. It’s not really all about moi just ten random things which I hope give a flavour of who I am. Here’s what it says.
I cannot decide if my favourite book is Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice which I have read many many times or Marilynne Robinson’s Gilead which I have read once only but found profoundly moving.
I always wear earrings, as I feel naked without them.
I cannot sing. However I read somewhere that everyone can be thought how to sing so going to a singing class is on my list of things to do.
If I were asked to describe myself in five words I would say I am: shy, optimistic, conscientious, loyal and forgiving (those of course are the good bits).
I am inordinately fond of cake much to the detriment of my waistline.
My style icons are Ines de la Fressange and Michelle Obama.
The trait I admire most in others is empathy.
Five things I think I couldn’t live without but almost certainly could if I had to are: decent coffee, my car, dark chocolate, black opaque tights and central heating.
I am an introvert.
My all time favourite quote is “To whom much is given much is required” it’s from the bible.
Excellent! It is difficult to write about yourself isn’t it?
Very difficult indeed. Thanks for your kind comment Debra.
Great list! My version of “cake” would be chocolate and gelato… 🙂
Thanks for your comment Meg. Chocolate and gelato sounds good as an alternative to cake.
