Thread is a new free fashion magazine for Dublin that will be published quarterly. It’s the very clever idea of the owners of six independent Dublin boutiques (Bow, Costume, Dolls, Indigo & Cloth, Smock and uCCa) who banded together to showcase their stock (often original and sometimes quirky) and to shine a light on Dublin’s vibrant creative fashion scene.
In the first issue Aisling Farinella Thread’s editor says, “Thread is about supporting what is original and individual about fashion, in Dublin and internationally. By linking into a network of people that already exist, we are able to bring you the best of what is happening at home and what we’ve been creating abroad”.
In a world were homogeneity is king of high street, in cities throughout the globe, it is nice to be reminded that there are independent retailers out there who strive to bring something fresh to the fashion, design and creative equation.
The first issue is out now and is available from any of the six boutiques.
