Lately I downloaded yet another photographic app to my iPhone: this is bonkers behaviour as I have an insane number of them on my phone already – many, correction most, of which I never use. However, when I read about Waterlogue on Garance Dore’s blog and admired the effect she achieved with it I was wholly smitten and bought it immediately. Waterlogue converts photographs into luminous watercolour paintings: I used it to transform a nondescript iPhone photo of a flower into the image you see at the top of this post.

Vulnerability
I imagine that if a group of people who know me were asked to describe me that one of the things that most of them would say is that: I am a private person. True. Yet, paradoxically I write a blog and it’s out there in cyberspace for anyone to read. Also true. But when I write a post I try not to mention anything I wouldn’t be happy to chat about with, say, a random stranger on a train.

Lately …
Lately, well, immediately post-Christmas, I was in the UK staying with my very good and old (in the known for a long time sense) friends A & B and their three beautiful and clever daughters one of whom I feel privileged to be godmother to, and I mustn’t forget the final member of the household the aptly named Bella the friendly family dog. There are no pictures or posts from my trip because I was too busy having a wonderful time: said time was a magical mix of some lovely things to do and relaxing interludes.

In Which I Aim For a Healthier Lifestyle
I returned from my recent trip to the Mayr and More Health Centre in Austria fired with enthusiasm for leading a healthier life. Not that my lifestyle pre my visit to Austria was insanely unhealthy but I felt there was room for improvement.

Procrastination and a Plan (Hopefully)
When I moved this summer from an apartment to a house I was actually moving to a smaller space: my house, you see, is Thumbelina-size and quite a bit smaller than the apartment I moved from.
Hello!
I am still alive, just in case anyone out there is wondering. I did mention a while ago that I might be blogging light for a while and so I have been and I will be blogging even lighter for the next six weeks or so and I am just popping in to say so.
I need some time and space which sounds dramatic but actually isn’t, I just cannot think of another way of putting it.
The blog isn’t coming to an end and I will post very occasionally between now and the end of October and in early November I will be back on regular basis. As I am a fully paid up member of the I used to be indecisive but now I cannot make up my mind tribe I dithered for an age about putting up this post, but in the end it felt like the right thing to do. I am enormously grateful to those who read Just Add Attitude and if even one reader was clicking on expecting to see something new and wondering about the lack of posts it seemed like a good enough reason to write this.
With many good wishes from
B at Just Add Attitude

In Which I Break the (Sartorial) Rules

Life is scaffolded by so many rules: the laws of the land, the rules of the road, bye-laws here there and everywhere, and then there’s that list of rules around age appropriate dressing.

Signed, Sealed and Delivered
I started house hunting at a gentle pace late last year and more frantically this spring as by then there was ample evidence that a moribund for several years Dublin housing market had sprung Lazarus-like back to life and I started to worry that I was about to be priced out of it.

Still a Blogger
I know it’s a while since my last blog post and that I have blogged less often in recent times but I am still very much a blogger and I will get back on track.
